When a local high-street shop needed help in making the best of its display space, I was on hand to design, build and fit an attractive and adaptable shelving solution.
A strategic approach
The project started with a conversation in the Rural Urban store, where I saw for myself the range of home interior products and the setting in which they were displayed.
Discussions continued via email as the owners considered their requirements further. This was a large investment for their business, so it was important to them and to me that the result should be absolutely right.
Having listened to their needs, I suggested some ideas which would be practical, adaptable and in keeping with the look of the shop. Accurate measurements, photos and notes were taken to avoid any problems later.
An approach was agreed, strategic plans were drawn up and the customers were engaged proactively at every stage. Installation took place early in the day, to avoid disruption.
Thrilled with the results
The result has been complete satisfaction, as Rural Urban’s Richard and David explain.
“We got more than we could have hoped for! We needed an adaptable shelving system to increase our surface space in our high-street shop in Wadebridge. We met with Rich to discuss our options; he asked us what we wanted, what it needed to achieve and how we would like it to look. He came up with a couple of designs and we opted to follow his advice. He made recommendations on the type of wood which would be most suitable and we decided to proceed.
“He visited our premises to take measurements and gave us a timescale for the unit to be made.
“We are thrilled with the results, the finished display system is far better than we could have hoped. The finish is perfectly smooth and made to measure, it works perfectly. The work was completed on time and on budget with full communication. We will certainly use Rich again for future projects and we regularly recommend him to our clients for his high-quality craftsmanship.”
The perfect showcase
Since installing the new shelving, I’ve been contacted by the same clients to request a second version of the system for their shop’s ground floor.
In fact, my work there has proved to be a talking point for customers of the shop and has led to further work. There can be few better showcases for joinery than the shelving in a shop.
If you have a similar need, or any other commercial requirement, I will be delighted to hear from you.
